Cat Assisted Trading System
I found out CATS is an acronym of Computer Assisted Trading System, which according to Wikipedia was an automated trading system used by the Toronto Stock exchange in the 70s, so I used that for my game idea. I felt it wasn't cat-y enough though so I set it in a cat world.
Your job is to match up the buy and sell requests for stocks, ensuring that the stocks are the same and that the buy price is higher than the sell price. If you make too many mistakes you lose. The difficulty ramps up but I'm not sure by how much, as well as having to manage more companies the rate at which requests come in also increases and that's based on a couple of different numbers which I kind of guessed at, so it may be too fast to handle or it may not be fast enough!
I didn't have enough time to finish everything as I was a bit late in realising the jam had started, which is a shame as I think this was a game I could have actually finished in the normal timeframe for a change!
